Low-Tortuosity Battery Electrode Research

Project overview
Shorter Ion Pathways Without Giving Up Energy Density.
Researching electrode architectures that shorten ion-transport pathways while retaining the porosity required for high-energy-density battery performance.
At Boston University’s Mesostructured Materials & Devices Lab, I use nonequilibrium soft-matter processing to explore dual-scale porosity and interdigitated architectures for EV-relevant cells.
Key Work & Outcomes
- Engineered dual-scale porosity to reduce capacity loss during fast lithiation.
- Characterized the tradeoff between energy density and power delivery.
- Fabricated 3D carbon-sheet architectures with applications in energy storage and carbon capture.
